I was asked by Michelle Goldblum to be a volunteer at her NYC Flash Mob taking place in Union Square Park and I gladly accepted the invitation. This would be my first flash mob and I was happy to be a part of it, especially it being for such a worthy cause . . .
I didn’t know what to expect so I just went with an open heart and mind and with the intention to be of service. What I experienced was one of the most loving sights I’ve ever seen in New York City. . . As the music started, all of these people came together as one and gave up all inhibitions and joined the dance . . . At that very moment, we were all united for this cause and nothing else mattered. . . Age didn’t matter . . . color of skin didn’t matter . . . gender didn’t matter . . . sexual orientation didn’t matter . . . we were all human beings standing up for what we feel is right and sending a message of unity: STOP THE VIOLENCE TOWARD WOMEN all over the world! ENOUGH!
This entire experience happened due to the incredible work of one Michelle Goldblum . . . She is truly a miracle worker of the highest order . . . I was amazed at her handling of such a huge event and even though she had many volunteers, none of this would have been possible without her intention and motivation. She taught me last night the importance of believing in something, setting your intentions and trusting that everything would turn out for the highest good of all involved. You think it’s easy getting a mob of hundreds to not only dance to the Macarena but then move as one united group through the streets of New York City?! Without incident? With a palpable energy of LOVE radiating from every person there?!!! Well, Michelle made it look easy! It was an incredible experience!
Here’s a short little video I shot with my iPad of some of the dancing and also of Deepak Chopra from last night. This is just the beginning of the ONE BILLION RISING movement. . . but I think it’s a great start and with women like Michelle Goldblum involved, there’s no stopping us now!
